R. Gray West, 39th Judicial Circuit
Limestone County District Judge (Place 1)
Gray West has been a resident of Limestone County since 2011. He attended Pennsylvania State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. He then attended the University of Alabama School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2014. He worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Limestone County District Attorney’s Office from 2014 until he was appointed by Governor Kay Ivey as District Judge on July 23, 2020.
Judge West is the Presiding Juvenile Court Judge and he handles all Juvenile Dependency and Juvenile Delinquency matters. He also presides over all felony preliminary hearings, as well as misdemeanor criminal offenses.

- Preliminary hearings in felony cases
- Felony Drug Court
- State Trooper, Conservation, and Marine Patrol cases
