Defensive Driving School

The sole source for eligibility to Defensive Driving School is the Jurisdictional Court listed on your Ticket. You are NOT eligible to have your case dismissed just because you attend Defensive Driving School. Your case MUST be approved by the Judge to be eligible.

Attention Court Defendants Eligible for Defensive Driving School:

The Defensive Driving Course is held at the Limestone Sheriff’s Arena in the Lawrence Gannon Training Center, each month on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday, from 6 – 10 PM. You MUST pre-register for the class by calling the Sheriff’s Office at (256) 216-5028. The cost of the class is $50.00, cash or personal check, and the fee must be paid at the time of the class.

You may choose to take this class in any county, provided it is a 4-hour National Safety Council-approved course taught by a certified instructor. Online courses are NOT accepted.

How to Reach the Rodeo Arena

Directions From I-65:

• Take Exit 354, and travel South on US Hwy 31 to the first traffic light.
• Turn Right or West on Elm Street/AL Hwy 99, and continue until reaching the 3rd traffic light.
• Turn Right or North on AL Hwy 99 beside the Express/Liberty Oil. The Arena is immediately on the right.

Directions From US Hwy 72:

• Travel North on Lucas Ferry Road to the first traffic light.
• Turn Left or Northwest on Market Street, and continue for 2/10 miles past the traffic light at Express/Liberty Oil.
• The Arena is immediately on the right.

Directions From US Hwy 31:

• Turn West on AL Hwy 99/Elm Street, and continue until reaching the 3rd traffic light.
• Turn Right or North on AL Hwy 99 beside the Express/Liberty Oil.
• The Arena is immediately on the right.
