Animal Care & Control

The Animal Care & Control department receives calls for assistance from the general public, various agencies, and county departments. All calls are responded to, and appropriate follow-up action is taken as required. Animal Control duties also include maintenance on animal cages, keeping cages in an acceptable state of cleanliness, and maintaining reports of calls and equipment on loan.

Archives

Preserving and sharing the legacy of Limestone County. The Archives are the official repository for records produced by various county departments.

Board of Registrars

Community Corrections

The purpose of this proposed program is to keep violent offenders incarcerated longer by placing nonviolent, low-level offenders in the Community Corrections Program diverting them from the penitentiary.

Council on Aging

Engineering

The Limestone County Engineering Department provides technical support and direction to the County Commission in all areas of public works construction and maintenance.

EMA

License Commissioner

The Office of License Commissioner is responsible for the issuance of certain business and professional licenses, motor vehicle licenses, motor vehicle titles, temporary tags, motor vehicle and boat casual sales and use taxes, drivers’ licenses, and conservation licenses. The Office is also responsible for the assessment and collection of ad valorem and casual sales and use tax on motor vehicles.

Probate Judge

The numerous duties of the office are assigned by the Code of Alabama, 1975. By law, the Judge of Probate is also the chief election officer for Limestone County.

Revenue Commission

The office of the Revenue Commissioner handles the mapping, appraising, assessing, and collecting of property taxes.

Our mission is to protect life and property, preserve the constitutional rights of every citizen, and vigorously enforce the laws of the United States of America and the great state of Alabama.

Solid Waste

The Solid Waste Department handles weekly pickup of household waste.
